Face-forward anatomy: liver on patient right, spleen on patient left.
This view deliberately flips the usual classroom confusion. The spleen is on the screen right because you are facing the patient. Portal venous blood from the spleen and gut converges before entering the liver.
Why it matters clinically Orientation errors cause wrong-side thinking in imaging, examination and procedural planning. Patient right and viewer left must be actively separated.
